Nestled in the Mediterranean 15 miles from Tunisia Sicily has a large number of refugees stuck on the island.
The Sicilian mafia Cosa Nostra still has a strong influence over jobs, the economy and has declared war against migrants. The mayor of Palermo, has stated that the city is no longer European. Sicily's forgotton underclass “il Popolino" are stuck in the Mafia's hands.
